Google has released an updated version of Google Earth (5.0.11337.1968). The update includes a host of new features including
- Google Oceans – The ocean floor is not a 3D terrain instead of the previous 2D map, you can even see wave motions, and now you can fly below the ocean as well.
- Google Mars – The mars imagery has been added into Google Earth and it has a serious cool factor attached.
- Record Tour Mode – This is a cool feature that allows you to record a guided tour and share it via a .kmz file.
- Historical Imagery – This is my favorite feature of the set. Zoom into any area and then click the Historical Imagery icon in the top toolbar to see older imagery of the location. This is a time sink if I’ve ever seen one.
